Dr. Riccardo Di Gianfilippo obtained the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Rome Tor Vergata in 2016 and was avidly involved with the Italian Society of Periodontology while in private practice for two years. In 2018 he joined the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan where he obtained the Master’s degree in Periodontics in June 2021. He currently serves as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan and practices periodontics in Canton (MI).
His research activity focuses on peri-implant bone regeneration and plastic surgery. He has published numerous articles in leading journals of the field and currently serves a reviewer for several international journals. He is currently listed on Expertscape as top 1.2% worldwide contributors for the field of Gingival Recessions. He has been recognized by the Michigan Periodontal Association twice for the best clinical case submission, received the University of Michigan Teaching Fellowship, Jeffrey Johnston Award, and the Martignoni Award for his clinical and academic excellence. Dr. Di Gianfilippo’s goals are pursuing a career as researcher/clinician providing guidance in leading professional meetings and offering outstanding patient care based on ethical principles and dedicated knowledge.
